Holding Still in Time

Through the lens of my family, this triptych asks the question: as time speeds by us, who do you reach for to slow it down?
01. Dawn
My children’s day has just begun. They have an abundance of time and they are naive to the ticking clock. But schedules of life and the rapid changes of growing up can feel overwhelming to them. They reach for each other as a constant in the chaos and travel through it together.
02. Day
The fastest it’s ever been, these hours are flying before our eyes. My husband and I realize how quickly the days start and end, and we feel powerless to slow them down. Life demands so much of us, so we turn to each other to catch our breath.
03. Dusk
My parents are free from the agendas of the day. They enjoy their hours more freely and glance at their watches more rarely. They respect how quickly time can pass but they have mastered the secret to slowing it down: reflection rewinds the clock and brings them closeness.
